After a lively dinner in Hollywood, Matt Enlow and Oren Kaplan spent the rest of the night talking in the parking lot, after having realized that there wasn’t a podcast geared towards the question they were both constantly asking themselves: What does a director do? See, they both knew what the big time hollywood directors they grew up idolizing did. Their heads were *filled* with anecdotes and stories about the good old days of Hollywood filmmaking. But did any of that actually apply to them, two working directors you’ve never heard of? They realized that for people just starting out, looking to quit their day jobs, and climb the ladders of Hollywood, resources were slim. They also both, coincidentally, wanted to start a podcast.
That week Oren started buying gear, and Matt registered the domain JustShootItPod.com.
One hundred episodes and two years later, Just Shoot It has grown into a thriving community of filmmakers sharing ideas and experiences across the globe.
So dive in, and soak up the shared experience of hundreds of filmmakers in the trenches, making a living every day, people who got it together, put their hearts and wallets on the line to Just Shoot It.
We put together a page with a few of our favorites, if you’re looking for somewhere to start.
